How NMC checks the qualification

NMC checks whether your qualification permits registration in the country of training. It can contact the relevant regulator; prior registration affects the evidence requested.

The qualification certificate should identify the award and date. If you have been registered, the regulator details and registration evidence are also relevant. If you have never registered, NMC still checks whether the qualification would permit registration.

Evaluation comes before the final registration decision

The official sequence separates the eligibility and qualification application from the registration application. A competence test may be required after eligibility has been confirmed. Later evidence includes language, health, character and indemnity requirements.

Do not treat payment for the first evaluation stage as final admission to the register. Use NMC’s own stage descriptions to understand which part you are completing.

DiploWay preparation checklist

Before arranging an evaluation, write down the nursing field, intended country and receiving regulator. Keep the education-provider and professional-regulator roles separate in your notes.

Ask your training institution who can answer verification requests. Confirm which documents the regulator will send directly and which records you must provide yourself. Check the official application list for your circumstances instead of relying on another applicant’s list.

When comparing costs, keep qualification evaluation, examinations and final registration on separate lines. A low price for one stage does not tell you the cost or outcome of the entire process. This checklist helps organize your questions; it does not assess your qualification.
