Who decides

When this applies
QLS has two different services. UK-awarded qualifications are excluded from these overseas-qualification services even if study took place abroad.
Which document
The QLS outcome requested by the official requirement; a UPI code follows a successful assessment.
Avoid the wrong purchase
Do not choose a service from the teaching language alone or substitute an ENIC statement for Home Office English evidence.

What this does not do
This guide distinguishes documents and a named English-proof example; it does not decide visa eligibility.

Your next official step
Confirm the official evidence request before selecting a QLS product.

A qualification-only service is not every applicant’s English alternative
QLS separates English Proficiency and Qualification Comparison from Qualification Comparison. The latter is described for the named Skilled Worker PhD-points or High Potential Individual purposes. It is not a general substitute whenever a degree was taught in English. Confirm the document requirement; this guide does not choose an immigration route.

Awarding institution and verification matter
Both QLS descriptions exclude qualifications awarded by a UK institution, even where study took place abroad. Ecctis must have the awarding institution confirm authenticity before completing the assessment. A successful assessment supplies a UPI code for the Home Office; uploading a certificate alone is not a successful outcome.

Skilled Worker degree-based English example
The GOV.UK Skilled Worker English page distinguishes an English-taught degree awarded by a UK institution from one awarded outside the UK that needs Ecctis assessment and a code. That is one named document example: other ways to prove English and exemptions exist. Do not infer the rule for every route or applicant from the location where teaching took place.

An assessment fee is not a successful-outcome promise
The checked GBP 210 quote belongs specifically to English Proficiency and Qualification Comparison. The provider depends on institutional verification, does not promise faster processing and offers no refund after reviewing starts. There is no single combined QLS price in this guide.

DiploWay preparation: record the exact evidence request
Name the official recipient and write down whether it needs qualification level, English proof or both. Keep the awarding institution separate from the teaching location. Ask the provider which current product matches the request; do not treat this checklist as an eligibility decision.
