UHR’s directory directs health professions to Socialstyrelsen, teachers and preschool teachers to Skolverket, and veterinary professions to the Swedish Board of Agriculture. Use the exact role: a medical social-worker title or a specialist title does not make every broadly similar job the same regulated profession.
Teaching example: who sends the records to UHR?
Skolverket accepts foreign-qualification certification applications without requiring residence in Sweden or a Swedish civic registration number. Its application instructions request qualification and course records, Swedish-language evidence and applicable teaching-experience documents. Submit copies; originals only if requested. Follow its own translation rules, not a general UHR checklist.

Assessment advice is handed back to the decision maker
After a teaching application is complete, Skolverket sends the documents to UHR. UHR assesses the foreign credentials, may contact the educational institution and sends its statement back. Skolverket conducts the comprehensive assessment and decides certification. This is not an instruction to obtain a separate personal UHR statement first.
