Recognition comes before registration

PSI describes two steps: recognition of the qualification, then an application for registration. A pharmacist must be registered with PSI to practise in Ireland.

Training location and UK transitional conditions

The non-EU/EEA route applies regardless of nationality. Qualifications from Great Britain and Northern Ireland use TCQR, with transitional conditions tied to the training start and qualification completion dates.

PSI’s current route page distinguishes application, holistic assessment and examination stages. Check which stages apply to your case rather than treating all stage fees as an automatic total.

DiploWay questions before ordering another report

Write down where you trained and the start and completion dates of the pharmacist programme. Put nationality in a separate field. Ask PSI to resolve any uncertainty about transitional provisions using those exact details.

Ask what document confirms the recognition stage and what remains for registration. If a general degree comparison is offered to you, identify the precise PSI requirement it is intended to satisfy before buying it.

Keep the process budget divided by stage and add a separate line for any later registration charge. Record which stages have actually been requested and avoid assuming that another applicant’s examination path applies to you. This guide explains the sequence; PSI makes the recognition and registration decisions.
