The date changes the examination sequence
PEBC states that the October 2026 Pharmacist Evaluating Examination is its final sitting and optional for candidates already enrolled. Under its announced path effective January 2027, international graduates with current Document Evaluation can go to Qualifying Examination Part I without previously passing the Evaluating Examination.
Candidates who had already successfully passed Evaluating have different rules for ordering Qualifying Part I (MCQ) and Part II (OSCE). The new route generally requires a Part I success before Part II for those without prior Evaluating success.

Document Evaluation and the licence remain separate
A PEBC pharmacist Document Evaluation addresses a professional educational qualification and is a prerequisite to its exams on the standard international route. Certification does not itself grant a practising licence from a Canadian province or territory.
NAPRA's Gateway process has provincial and streamlined-path exceptions, so PEBC's national announcement cannot determine every applicant's first registration step.

A separate immigration ECA should not be ordered automatically
PEBC offers an optional ECA report for IRCC after Document Evaluation, but the immigration ECA is distinct from the professional exam certificate. One document should not be purchased solely because another route mentions evaluation.

DiploWay October-versus-January checklist
Check the date of the examination you intend to take, your existing Evaluating Examination success, and whether Document Evaluation is valid.
Identify the exact provincial regulator and ask about language, supervised practice and registration separately from PEBC exams.
Read PEBC's current transition notice before paying. Do not infer a deadline or an automatic exemption from a general article.
